I have a Zeiss Jenamed 2 microscope that is in fairly good condition,
except for the stage. The stage seems to have utilized a system of
pulleys and belts, and many of these parts are missing. As this is a
former East German Zeiss, does any one know where I could find a
replacement stage, or perhaps a parts or instruction manual?
Concerning the objectives: they are all planachromats, and besides the
usual Mag., NA and Oil immersion(Hi) rating they also have other
notations which I am not certain I understand:
Planachromat 5x/0.10 (infinity symbol)/A
Planachromat+ 10x/0.20 (infinity symbol)/A
Planachromat 40x/0.65 (infinity symbol)/0.17A
Planachromat Hi 50x/1.0 (infinity symbol)/0A
Planachromat Hi 100x/1.3 (infinity symbol)/0A
In particular, why the designation "+" on the 10x, and, while the .17
is for cover slip thickness, what does the " (infinity symbol)/A "
and the " (infinity symbol)/0A" indicate?
Thanks for any information that can be provided.
